The Paris of the year Lulu was born
Paris 1978 2h
260 €
Lulu rolled off the line in 1978. Two hours to see Paris as she first knew it, period photos in hand, and measure everything that has changed.
What awaits you
the highlights
Then and now: the same place, 50 years apart
A city on the rise
Beaubourg, Les Halles, Montparnasse
The Centre Pompidou, opened in 1977, the great Halles crater before the Forum, the brand-new Montparnasse tower at the end of rue de Rennes.
The Paris before
The Louvre without its pyramid
An abandoned Orsay train station, a Louvre courtyard with no pyramid, an Eiffel Tower not yet lit in gold.
Paris by car
The expressway on the quays
In 1978, cars sped along the Right Bank expressway. Today, people stroll there on foot: we drive by to compare.

The stops
We stop the engine, you step out
Two photo stops where we actually park: Bir-Hakeim Bridge, facing the 1970s towers of the Front de Seine, and the foot of the Eiffel Tower. I take the photos with your phone.
At each stop, I show you a photo of the same spot in 1978. Spotting the differences is often surprising.
Want real photos? I'm also a professional photographer.

Your questions
Frequently asked questions
Where do we meet?
Place de l'Odéon, Paris 6th (Odéon metro, lines 4 and 10). I send you the exact spot and my number the day before. I can also pick you up at your hotel for an extra charge.
What if we weren't around in 1978?
It's made for you: the period photos show what has changed and what hasn't. Those who were, often share their own memories.
Is the price really the same for 2 or 3 people?
Yes. The price is per car, not per person: up to 3 passengers ride for the same price.
